Day -2: Friday 9/6/2019

On my last day of work (for 6 weeks) I confirmed a few pieces of good news related to work that the team is responsible for. Without going into detail, we'll be able to release a sweet little feature to our clients by tuesday morning involving the auditability of csv imports. And if all goes according to plan, right around the same time, will be able to announce that we've reached a major milestone with one of the monolithic pieces of development that's tied us up for the entire year -- the event service.
🤞🤞🤞

Tonight

Tried going to jiu jitsu, but misread the calendar, and thought the class was at 6:45. I showed up thinking I was 10 minutes early only to find out that the class was nearly over. Later that night, I realized my mistake: I checked the class schedule of the Red Hook school. So I headed back on my bike - through the rain - and watched District 9 with baby A upstairs. Unlike her twin sister, baby A is a fan of sci-fi and horror flicks. Baby B is much more of a rom-com / Spaceballs type of movie watcher. You might say that they each represent Matthew Mcconnaughy at different arcs of his professional acting career. Whatever... it confuses me, but it doesn't bother me - they're still rough drafts of themselves. They both adore the fantasy genre, and are exceptionally well read for twelve year olds. I have slowly been trying to nudge them into reading Harlan Ellison and Kurt Vonnegut. If it's meant to happen, it will.
