A comprehensive list of stupid f***ing s*** that I don’t understand - updated semi-regularly

Beginning ~ 2012, I started maintaining lists of many things. One such list was A comprehensive list of stupid f***ing s*** that I don’t understand - updated semi-regularly. But this was a chore to write out more than once, so I attempted to shorten it. That simply did not do. I experimented with emoji substitution for the phrase. This proved totally inadequate, and it is surprisingly hard to design emoji's from scratch. So I settled for text message shorthand: ACLOSFSTIDU-USR - in all caps of course.

Samples of ACLOSFSTIDU-USR

  1. People who use the word “summer” as a verb (6/29/2018)
  2. Netflix tv show writing - there is a string of Netflix shows that appear to be optimized medleys of songs, memorable scenes, and casting ensembles designed to evoke memories of movies that are in fact good. It is quite possible v1 drafts of these scripts are ghost-written by algorithms
  3. OKR’s
  4. The Academy Awards
  5. "Blistering takedowns" -- the usage of blistering as an intensifier here isn't fooling anyone over the age of 9. Does anyone on earth actually believe that when a celebrity offers a "blistering takedown" of another celebrity, something will change? [7/26/2017]
  6. Dabbing -- What in the f*** is this? [1/4/2017] I believe it’s a form of touchdown celebration (eg: Cam Newton) that has morphed into a dance.
  7. Why are many self-identifying liberals tripping over their own feet to characterize the election of ****** ***** as an inevitable consequence of the democratic party’s failure to listen to disaffected white voters and take their concerns seriously? Seems to me that this is a gross over-simplification that exonerates many terrible people, and worse, attempts to reason with millions of dip shits. What a colossal waste of resources. [12/15/2016]
  8. Coal miners -- why does anyone believe that digging holes into the earth is a line of work worth saving? No one belly-aches over the disappearance of switch board operators, shoe shine boys, elevator operators, or farriers (specialists in equine hoof care). [11/28/2016]
  9. The worn-out nature of the following words and phrases
    1. slam (verb; eg: Eric Garner’s daughter slams Clinton Campaign…)
    2. epic (adj; frequently used in non-sports headlines in conjunction with the noun "takedown"; eg: Trevor Noah delivers epic takedown of Donald Trump... Elizabeth Warren's epic takedown of Wells Fargo CEO
  10. People who take a knee during the playing of the national anthem as a form of protest [Oct. 19, 2016]. This isn’t a protest, it’s self-absorbed grandstanding. Taking umbrage at anything nowadays seems to be a runaway phenomenon. Focusing an intense spotlight on your outrage with the help of social media has become a form of celebrity.
